Punjab: Moga police arrested two drug dealers sent to police three days

Moga, September 28 (IANS). Police from the Moga district in Punjab have taken major steps against drug trafficking based on the information of a special informant. Police have arrested two smugglers with 470 grams of heroin and two cell phones. In this action, police also seized the car’s car. The arrested persons were identified as Sukhjit Singh alias Sukh and Gurmeet Singh as Tarn Taran. DSP Dharmakot Ramandeep Singh gave information about the matter, saying that the police received a special information around 11pm on Saturday night. According to the information, two youths came to Bugipura Chowk with heroin in their car (number PB-65A 9704). On this information, police took action immediately and blocked the Bugipura Chowk and stopped and searched the suspected car. During the search, 470 grams of heroin, an iPhone and an OPPO were recovered from the car. DSP Ramandeep Singh said a case is registered against both the accused under the anesthetic medicine and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) in Thana Mehna. Both accused were produced in the Moga Local Court, from where they were sent three days after the police custody. During the police custody, the accused is intensively questioned so that other people associated with this drug trafficking can be detected. According to police information, Sukhjit Singh and Gurmeet Singh were long involved in drug smuggling and delivered heroin from Tarn Taran to Moga. Police are investigating deeper to break the large network of drug smuggling in this case. DSP Ramandeep Singh said: “We are working on the policy of zero tolerance to drug trafficking. Such action will create fear of drug dealers and we will move forward to free society.” This action is part of the ongoing campaign against the drug smuggling of the Moga police. Local people appreciated this action of the police and hoped that such action would continue in the future as well.
