Jalandhar, September 29 (IANS). Punjab Director -General of the Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Monday presented a judgment meeting of law and order in Jalandhar. The meeting was held in the Pap complex in Jalandhar, which includes officials of the Commissioners Police Jalandhar and Jalandhar series, as well as senior officers from Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar Rural and SBS Nagar police. DGP Gaurav Yadav, while sharing his information on social media platform X, said it was his second assessment meeting, before having a similar meeting in Amritsar. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on strategies against terrorism, eliminating organized crime networks and the challenges of emerging law and order in the region. In light of the upcoming festive season, special emphasis was placed on coordinating active policing and intelligence system. The DGP instructed the officials to further strengthen the security system during the festivals, so that the ordinary citizens have no inconvenience. The meeting was attended by ADGP ETG, ADGP-Counter Intelligence, CP Jalandhar, Dig Jalandhar Range, AIG CI Jalandhar and SSPs of the various districts. During this period, DGP Gaurav Yadav underlined the dedication of Punjab police, saying that Punjab police were in a professional way dedicated to the protection of citizens and accepted a zero tolerance policy. He motivated officials to take strict action against organized crime and terrorist activities. There was also the emphasis on the exchange of intelligence and the use of technical resources to achieve more effective results under crime control. During the same visit, the DGP also inaugurated a modern outdoor stadium in Jalandhar’s Pap complex. This stadium is equipped with state facilities and aims to improve young talents and to promote excellence in sports. The DGP said at the event that this stadium would play an important role in encouraging sports and physical fitness, not only for police staff, but also for the local community. This initiative of Punjab police is not only a step towards strengthening law and order, but also an attempt to promote new opportunities for community development and youth.
