Punjabi Mahasabha arranged a great program on Karva Chauth in Nainital.

Nainital, October 10 (IANS). The Feast of Karva Chauth was celebrated with special pump and enthusiasm in the Lake City Nainital. A Grand Karva Chauth Puja ceremony was arranged by the Punjabi Mahasabha in the prestigious Fair Heavens Hotel in Mallital of the City, in which a large number of local women participated in traditional costumes. The women participating in the program say that this wonderful festival of Suhaag with Nirjala begins quickly before sunrise. On this day, women hold fast without eating or drinking all day to pray for the long life of their husbands and a happy married life and breaking them up just after seeing the moon at night. There was a lot of enthusiasm about Karva Chauth among the women of Nainital. Women started meeting at the Fair Havens Hotel from noon and by evening the whole atmosphere was filled with dedication and music. Women dressed in red and golden clothes jointly listened to the story of Karva Chauth and performed the rituals. During this time, a period of Bhajan-Kirtan also took place, creating a vibrant atmosphere of happiness, songs and traditional culture everywhere. The local resident dr. Pallavi said she quickly saw Karva Chauth and celebrated this festival with great enthusiasm. He said, “I am eagerly awaiting Karva Chauth. On this day, women quickly take up a Nirjala and pray to God for the long life of their husbands.” He emphasized that he is celebrating all the festivals together. Another local woman, Parul Ahuja, said they were preparing for Karva Chauth a month in advance.
