Important from a religious and tourism point of view, this fair offers a rich glimpse of rural lifestyle and folk culture. The formal inauguration of the fair will take place on October 30 with the raising of the flag, after which various cultural programs will begin. According to the Livestock Department, animal posts will be established from October 24 at all the access routes of the fair, where registration, health tests and labeling of large animals will be done. Ajmer. The world famous International Pushkar Cattle Fair, a symbol of the cultural heritage and traditions of Rajasthan, has formally started from today, October 22. Important from religious and tourist point of view, this fair offers a glimpse of the rural lifestyle and folk culture not only of Rajasthan but of the whole of India. The fair will be formally inaugurated with the flag hoisting on October 30, after which various cultural and traditional programs will begin. Dr. Animal husbandry department associate director Sunil Ghiya told News 18 Local that starting October 24, animal posts will be established at all the entry routes of the fair. Registration, compulsory health testing and tagging of large animals such as camel, cow, buffalo and horse coming to these posts will be done. This year, the department further strengthened the animal identification system, under which the complete data of each animal will be recorded in digital records. This will not only increase transparency but will also help in animal protection and disease control. 204 animals reached Pushkar on the first day. Dr. Ghiya further said that for the first time in the Pushkar fair, land was allotted online for the livestock breeders in which till now 417 plots were allotted to the livestock breeders and till the first day of the fair i.e. October 22, a total of 204 animals reached Pushkar. As the fair progresses, the number of animals is likely to increase rapidly. The Animal Husbandry Department has made special arrangements for the convenience of animal farmers. Departmental teams will remain on duty 24 hours so that no livestock owner or animal is inconvenienced. This time, the fair will also feature a series of exciting competitions. The competitions of the fair will start with the milk competition on November 2. After this, on November 3, horse line crane competition will be organized at 09:00, cow line crane competition at 10:00 and Gir cow line crane competition at 14:00.
