New -Delhi, May 28 (IANS). Radico Khaitan, one of India’s leading beverage manufacturers, announced the withdrawal of his newly known whiskey brand ‘Trikal’ after criticizing religious groups, social media users and political personalities. It has been alleged that the name and image of this brand harm religious feelings. In an official statement issued on Wednesday, the company said: “We are the first and most important of all that is a glorious Indian company. Born on this country, built by its people and dedicated to maintaining its values. We keep every Indian’s feelings closer to our heart and respect every voice that speaks to our shared identity. ‘Trikala’ comes from Sanskrit and means ‘three times’ – with the mention of the past, present and future. It encompasses progress and innovation and shows our deep root faith in respect for the rich heritage of India. ‘Trikala’ was never just a name – its purpose was to pay tribute to the timeless spirit of India, the hands of our artisans and the soul of our culture. The statement emphasized that this decision was not completely commercial, but further said: “It is not just a commercial decision. It is a sign of honor, reflection and our unwavering commitment to respect our people and our feelings.” It is noteworthy that the controversy began shortly after the launch of a single malt -whiskey priced from Rs 3.500 to 4.500 rupees. On the bottle of the bottle there was a line line of a cycle with closed eyes on a tal -color label and on the forehead – which many people considered the third eye of Lord Shiva. Critics, including religious leaders and Sanatan Dharma organizations, objected to the name ‘Trikala’, which argued that the Hindu goddess had sacred meanings related to Shiva. -Ians Sch/GKT shares this story tags
