Plan for Navy Cost-Watch at a cost of 270 crores, design and development of maritime diesel engine
New -Delhi, April 2 (IANS). New diesel engines will be developed for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard ships. It costs about Rs 270 crore. It was approved by the Ministry of Defense on Wednesday. It is an indigenous project. So far, most such engines are imported from abroad, that is, this project will strengthen the initiative of confidence India. The developed engines will be used for the most important drive and power generation on the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard ships. For the use of the Indian fleet and the coast guard, a 6 MW medium -speed maritime diesel engine will be designed and developed. For this, the project approval order under the make-i category between the Navy and Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited was signed.
