Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav inaugurated development projects worth Rs 100 crore, watch the video. Pilot project of Sanganeri pressure blanket cover started in trains.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reached the Khatipura railway station in Jaipur at 10.30 am on Thursday, where he inaugurated the development works done at a cost of over Rs 100 crore at 65 small and medium railway stations under the North-West Railway zone. On this occasion, he also launched a new initiative for passenger comfort and promotion of Indian cultural identity. On this occasion, the Railway Minister announced that the blankets given to passengers in trains will now be covered with traditional Sanganeri print. It is a print related to the folk art and tradition of Rajasthan, which has received special recognition across the country. The pilot project of this scheme was started in the Jaipur-Ahmedabad Express train. Ashwini Vaishnav said that railways should not only be a means of travel but also a medium to showcase Indian culture. He informed that the use of Sanganeri pressure cover has been started as an experimental initiative, which is planned to be implemented in other trains as well. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Railway Minister said, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Make in India’ campaign, Railways is constantly working to promote local industries and traditional arts. By adopting regional products like Sanganeri printing, we are not only giving a better experience to the passengers but also providing new opportunities to the local artists.” During this, the Railway Minister also examined the new facilities at the station. Among these development works, facilities like platform shed, passenger waiting room, modern toilets, digital information board, drinking water system and disabled ramp have been upgraded. Along with the Railway Minister, General Manager of North Western Railway, Jaipur Division officials and local public representatives were also present. Ashwini Vaishnav said that along with station development in the North West Railway zone, special attention is also being given to passenger safety, cleanliness and technical improvements. He said that in future Railways will also rejuvenate other minor stations of the state under ‘Amrit Station Scheme’. After the program the Railway Minister talked to the passengers at the station and took information about their facilities and suggestions. Passengers appreciated the improvement work done at the station and praised initiatives like Sanganeri print cover. On this occasion, the Minister said that the aim of Indian Railways is that every passenger should get a better combination of safety, cleanliness and cultural experience during the journey.
