Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Tuesday that in view of the increasing number of passengers on festivals, the Railways will run around 7,800 more special trains in the coming days. War rooms are set up to ensure that people’s journeys are not disrupted. The railway minister said, to ensure that people’s journey is not disrupted, he visited the New Delhi railway station on Tuesday and made a ground-level review of the arrangements made for passengers during the festive season. He also reviewed the special trains from the War Room of Rail Bhawan before visiting here. A war room has been set up in Rail Bhawan for the management. He gave important instructions to the railway officials to ensure the comfort and safety of the passengers. Railways has set up a war room at Rail Bhawan to monitor and manage the huge crowd of passengers traveling during festivals. Vaishnav said that this command center is capable of doing real-time monitoring. This allows officials to quickly attend to overcrowding, passenger complaints and potential incidents. The War Room has evolved into an effective system overseeing the entire Indian Railways network. It has more than 80 war rooms active at Railway Grade, Zonal and Divisional levels. Moving trains are also closely watched. The railway minister said that on an average around 4.25 lakh passengers travel through the Delhi region every day. Major stations like Surat, Mumbai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru are continuously monitored. Even moving trains are closely watched. Each division and zone has its own war room, which ensures round-the-clock surveillance with the dedicated efforts of all railway employees.
