Rajnagar-Rajsamand highway becomes 'death zone', illegal parking of trucks becomes death trap
The four-lane expressway connecting Rajnagar with Rajsamand is now becoming a death trap for the people. Many accidents on this road in the past few months have raised the concern of the local people. Illegal lorry parking, administrative negligence and ignorance of road safety rules have made this road a “dead zone”. Accidents on the rise, two deaths The latest accident happened earlier this month when a speeding car collided with a lorry parked on the side of the road at night. The accident was so serious that two youths from Udaipur died instantly. According to local people, this is not the first incident. In the past too, numerous accidents have taken place on this highway, in which many people have been injured and some have died. Kamlesh Chaudhary, a local resident, says, “This road looks scary even during the day, but at night it feels like we are walking under the shadow of death. Trucks stand in the dark without reflectors or parking lights. A little carelessness, and an accident is bound to happen.” Despite the service line, service lines have been made to park trucks on the main road to avoid traffic jams and hazards on the Rajnagar-Rajsamand highway. But the reality is that most of the truck drivers do not use the service line and park directly on the main road. Due to this, drivers cannot see the trucks in time at night, which leads to accidents. Local shopkeeper Bharat Gurjar says that many trucks are parked at night without any warning lights or reflectors. Fast vehicles often collide with them. If police and administration act strictly, accidents can be prevented. Share this story Tags
