Protests in Nepal: Interior Minister Ramesh Lekhak resigned on Monday after 19 people were killed and more than 100 others were injured during violent protests by “Gen Z” about corruption and ban on social media. “Rames Minister of Nepal, Ramesh Lekhak, holds his resignation to the prime minister at the Cabinet meeting held during the official home of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar,” reports Ani. On Monday morning, thousands of youths in front of Parliament in the heart of Kathmandu converenced and protested against the ban on September 4 at 26 websites on social media, including Facebook, WhatsApp and X. The protesters shouted slogans against the government. However, the demonstration became violent after some protesters entered the parliamentary complex, asking police to obtain complaint to spread the crowd. Police also fired tear gas peel and rubber bullets.
