The 61st meeting of the governing body of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Jharkhand’s largest government hospital, was held on Thursday. 24 Agendas were discussed during the meeting and many important decisions were made, which will have a direct influence on patients and hospital staff. Now the RIMS management will immediately give up the Rs 5,000 by UPI to the family of the deceased for the last rites. This facility is available for all sections and it is estimated to cost about Rs 7 crore annually. To run this scheme smoothly, more vehicles, in addition to the existing five Moksshavans, will be purchased. In light of the festivals, it was also decided to increase the salaries of ANM, GNM, outsourcing of employees and other staff working in fields. In addition, in a big step, the stipendium of junior doctors doing internship on the lines of AIIMs is increased to Rs 30,000 per month. It was decided to increase the number of beds in the hospital to eliminate the problem of patients treated on the ground. However, the proposal of the RIMS to increase MBBS seats from 180 to 250 was rejected by NMC, against which management appealed.
