Ranji -Trophy: Shivam Dubey will not play the first game due to the stiffness of the back

Mumbai, October 14 (IANS). The All-Rounder Shivam Dubey is excluded from Mumbai’s first Ranji trophy (2025-26) match against Jammu and Kashmir due to the stiffness of the back. Dubey returned from Srinagar to Mumbai on Tuesday night. The team management made this decision with the aim of reducing Shivam Dubey workload. Dubey is part of the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 series of five games in Australia starting on October 23. He must be completely fit before the series, so he received a break in the match against Jammu and Kashmir. Dubey was one of India’s best artists in the 2025 Asia Cup. Captain Suryakumar Yadav often chose him as an important bowling option. In the final with high pressure against Pakistan, Dubey produced an important action. In the absence of Hardik Pandya, he opened the bowling and gave only 23 runs in three overs. He then scored 33 runs in 22 balls and gave India an exciting victory. Dubey will probably only return to the Australian tour to the Ranji team. Mumbai was boosted by the return of Muster Khan, who missed last season due to neck and collarbone injuries sustained in a road accident. His older brother, Sarfaraz Khan, also returned to fitness after being excluded from India’s Test series against the West Indies due to a quadriceps injury. This season leads the Indian Allrounder Shardul Thakur Mumbai. The runners -up of last season were placed in Group D with Jammu and Kashmir, Hyderabad, Delhi, Puducherry, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. –Is Bag Share This Story Tags
