This is the first time in 18 years that Chandrase caran has missed TCS’s shareholders’ meeting since he was admitted to the board in 2007. He served as CEO of TCS from 2009 to 2017, when he was selected to take over as chairman of Tata Sons. “The chairman of the council, N. Chandrase caran, will not be able to attend the meeting due to a few interests,” said Yashaswin Sheth, TCS secretary of the company. The Air India flight was a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner model, and Ge Aerospace built the two engines. Meltry said the TATA group would expand support to those affected by the accident in Air India. “The TATA group is fully committed to supporting the ongoing investigation and working with the regulatory authorities. The Bureau of the Aircraft Crash (AAB), part of the Civil Aviation Ministry, is investigating the cause of the air accident. A team from the National Transport Safety Council, the US investigative agency responsible for investigations into civil transport accidents, the Federal Aviation Administration, Boeing and Ge Aerospace help the AAB. “Considering the chairman of Chandrase Caran, all the council meetings have attended in the past, and he is probably trying to balance his time commitments,” Shriram Subramanian, founder and managing director of the power advisory firm Ingovern Research Services, said.
