A rare appearance of the endangered “deer” beetle and a fine of 557 thousand Turkish liras for those who harm it – ryan

In the Turkish state of Adana, a rare insect known as the “deer beetle”, which is one of the organisms listed within the “red list” of endangered species and is subject to strict legal protection, where the fine of its killing or trading is 557 thousand and 212 Turkish liras.

The beetle was monitored inside a house in the area of ​​the Vika of Adana, where the residents were surprised by its entry, especially since its size approaches the size of the finger, and it has a strange shape characterized by long centuries. This insect sparked some of the population, while others confirmed that they used to see it.

Amina Tashagar, the owner of the house entered by the insect, said:

“In the summer, this insect comes to our house always. We cannot hold it easily, it sticks to the hand strongly. Harm. ”
An environmental value and a huge financial fine
The deer beetle is a high environmental value, as it plays an important role in maintaining the environmental balance within the forests by contributing to soil health and analyzing organic matter.
The General Directorate for the Protection of Nature and National Parks has confirmed that killing or trafficking this species exposes its perpetrator to a fine of 557.212 Turkish pounds.
Reports had previously indicated the sale of some types of deer beetles in Japan at prices ranging from 15 thousand and 100 thousand dollars, such as hobby or as pets.

An invitation to not harm the rare creatures
Experts and environmental protection authorities appeal to citizens not to harm these rare species, deal with them as an important part of the ecosystem, and the need to report them instead of getting rid of them or trying to sell them.
