Residents admit Village Road in Pandeglang has been damaged for 30 years, Andra promises to repair it

Jakarta – Banten Governor Andra Soni inspected the construction site for the Cadasari-Kaduela Village Road in Pandeglang Regency. This road will be the main access to the area planned as the site for the construction of the People’s School. This project is part of the Build Prosperous Village Roads (Bang Andra) program implemented by the Banten Province Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Department. Apart from going to the People’s School, this area also has important facilities such as Islamic residences, health facilities, markets and community routes to the Untirta Campus, Faculty of Agriculture. Andra Soni together with the regent of Pandeglang Raden Dewi Setiani and the head of the PUPR service Arlan Marzan directly inspected the construction site. Also present was member of the Banten DPRD, Rifki Hermiansyah, as well as vice-chairman I of the Pandeglang Regency DPRD, Fikri Pebriansyah. Residents say the road has been damaged for more than 30 years. Slippery slopes and potholes often cause vehicles to slide and cause accidents. “This road has been dilapidated for a long time, about 30 years. People often fall, especially school children. The slippery slope and potholes often cause vehicles to slide,” said Susi (36), a resident of Waas Village. During the review, Governor Andra Soni emphasized that the construction of village roads is a concrete manifestation of the government’s presence in improving basic community services. “This road is very important because it connects two towns and two districts, and provides access to educational and economic services,” Andra said. Head of the Banten Province PUPR Service, Arlan Marzan, explained that the construction was carried out over 1.7 kilometers with a width of 5 meters, with concrete construction to make it stronger and resistant to high rainfall. “From this month to December, we are aiming for completion. We are asking for the community’s support because in these two months, traffic flow will be disrupted. Once it is completed, access will be much smoother,” he said. Arlan added that the repaired road provides access to the People’s School. Pandeglang Regency, he said, proposed that one of the lands in the area be used as a site for building the school. “So, Pandeglang Regency proposed. Later, when the People’s School here is ready, the one in South Tangerang will be moved here,” he said. (aik/yang)
