IM57 Sindir Noel asks Amnesty to Prabowo, leaving a trail of corruption in the ministry of manpower

Jakarta – IM57+Institute has criticized the attitude of former Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer or Noel who asked for amnesty to President Prabowo after being named a suspect and detained by the KPK. IM57 encouraged Prabowo to refuse direct request from Noel. “First, Amnesty’s request is actually not suitable to be asked and President Prabowo should have refused,” said chairman of the IM57+Institute Lakso Anindito when he was contacted on Sunday (8/24/2025). Lakso referred to a history of corruption matters in the Ministry of Manpower. Before Noel and ten other people were detained by the KPK regarding the case of extortion in the management of Occupational Safety and Health Certificate (K3), the KPK also arrested several Kemnaker officials in the case of the extortion of foreign labor permits (TKA). Browse to continue with the content “OTT is carried out only 4 weeks after the detention of suspects in corruption cases associated with TKA. This means that it is a recurring criminal offense at the same ministry,” Lakso explained. According to Lakso, the government should reflect on the granting of amnesty to the PDIP secretary general Hasto Kristiyanto who turned the public spotlight. Instead of giving amnesty, IM57 urged the Prabowo government to pay attention to corruption cases that often occur in the Ministry of Manpower. “If the President gives amnesty, not only repeats the same mistakes, but is also carried out to the ministry that needs special attention, because as corruption with a similar mode,” he said. In addition, the IM57 also appreciated the KPK that managed to catch the Vice Minister of Wamenaker in the arrest operation. Lakso mentions the features of OTT in the Arrrupt of corrupt officials who have disappeared, and it now feels back. “This OTT performance is a feature of the KPK that has been lost for a long time, so that the KPK must continue if you want to restore the public’s confidence,” Lakso said. IM57 asked Prabowo to support the steps of the legal action taken by the KPK. Prabowo, Lakso says, is not expected to intervene in the work to eradicate corruption that is re -intensified by the KPK. “The president must provide full support, as different efforts will be made to intervene and even weaken the KPK when the KPK has begun to show a commitment to restore public independence and trust,” Lakso explained. “It is the president’s momentum to prove that the expression against corruption during the annual session is not only rhetoric, but a real job. The KPK has begun with a series of OTT, this is a momentum that must be welcomed by the President by becoming a protector for the independence of the KPK,” he continued. Previously, Noel hoped to get through Prabowo amnesty. However, only the hope was said, Prabowo actually removed Noel from his position. “Hopefully pack Prabowo will give me amnesty,” Noel said in the KPK building on Friday (8/22), Kuningan, Jakarta. The statement was made by Noel when he was fed to a detention car. Amnesty’s request was made by Noel when he had not yet entered a housel. Noel and ten suspects for the extortion of the K3 Kemnaker K3 certificate have now undergone detention center detention. (YGS/DHN)
