Jakarta – The case of alleged corruption in the management of crude oil that caused state losses that reached the IDR 285 trillion. So far, however, there is one more suspect that is still being hunted, namely Mohamad Riza Chalid (MRC). Attorney General’s head of the Attorney General’s office said the file of Riza Chalid was not submitted to the court. However, if it is handed over later, his party will still try to present Riza Chalid as the defendant during the hearing. “In the meantime, we are still asking for a red notice of Interpol. However, he revealed that the pursuit was not easy because the oil dealer was abroad. “We need to work together first and one of the legal steps we take is to set up a DPO (searched list) and also request a red notice of Interpol,” he explained. When he was repeated about the possibility that Riza Chalid was being tried without the presence of the defendant or in absence, Anang would not be able to confirm it. He explained that if the hearing was held in absence, there were conditions that had to be met. “One of them was clarified, it was announced nationally, the person in question was summoned and legally suitable to be called, both as a witness, (also as) a suspect,” he continued. Anang confirmed that his party, apart from the pursuit of Riza Chalid, was still trying to pursue Riza Chalid’s assets. The Attorney General’s office confiscated Riza Chalid’s assets several times. “What is clear is that we are not just focused on pursuing the suspect. We also look at the assets in question to recover losses to the country,” he concluded. The case of the corruption of crude oil has been underway since two weeks ago. The indictment was read against the 9 defendants. The discussion in the indictment begins from the release of oil exports, and continues with imports to hire ships for the transport of oil. In this case, the prosecutor said that there were two types of losses, namely financial losses and economic losses of the state. State financing reached IDR 70.531.359.213.763.30 (IDR 70.5 trillion).
