RJD leaders angry over ticket distribution resign collectively, say - won't do demeaning politics
Darbhanga, October 22 (IANS). Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) suffered a major setback ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. Alleging neglect and favoritism in ticket distribution, 50 leaders associated with the party’s Extremely Backward Class cell resigned collectively. In the press conference held in Darbhanga, angry leaders made serious allegations against the party leadership and openly expressed their views. Prominent names among those who resigned include Bhola Sahni (State Secretary General), Kumar Gaurav (State Vice President), Gopal Lal Dev (Chief Secretary General), Shyam Sundar Kamat (District General Secretary), Sushil Sahni (State Secretary) and many district and block level officials. Everyone claimed that the extremely backward community has been working for RJD with devotion and hard work for years, but this section was completely ignored at the time of ticket distribution. State Vice President of RJD Extremely Backward Cell, Dr. Kumar Gaurav launched a scathing attack saying that there is no ideology left in the party. Now only politics of flattery and money power remain here. By ignoring our society, the party has proved that it has become a party of only a few select faces. He said that he and his colleagues would no longer engage in ‘degrading politics’. Bhola Sahni, former president of Zilla Parishad and RJD leader, said that the morale of honest and dedicated workers is constantly breaking in the party. Every time the extremely backward society is considered only as a vote bank but when it comes to the share it is sidelined. He said that those who resigned include the District Cell President, several Block Presidents and Panchayat level workers. The leaders also warned that this discontent would have a direct impact on the party’s electoral performance. He said that if the leadership still does not listen to the voice of the workers, RJD may suffer heavy losses in the upcoming elections. –IANS PIM/ABM Share this story Tags
