New -Delhi, March 29 (IANS). Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday rejected the review request in the BJP leader Surajbhan Chauhan. This petition was filed against Saurabh Bhardwaj, leader of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Chauhan disputed the earlier order of the court, in which his complaint was rejected. Surajbhan Chauhan filed a complaint against Saurabh Bhardwaj and Sanjay Chauhan in September 2018. The complainant claims that Saurabh Bhardwaj held a press conference on September 20, 2018 claiming that a person, Santosh Kumar, a fir against Surajbhan Chauhan. However, Chauhan said that no fir was filed against him and the statement is false and defamatory. In addition, the complainant also argued that Santosh Kumar Gupta died under mysterious circumstances. In such a situation, the statement of Saurabh Bhardwaj was an attempt to imply him. On this basis, Surajbhan Chauhan demanded at the court that Saurabh Bhardwaj should be tried for slander. In the case, the additional main metropolitan magistrate of Rouse Avenue Court, in an order given on February 19, 2025, rejected the plea of the complainant and said that the complaint had been filed outside the time limit. The complainant demanded the court to relinquish the delay, rejected by the court. Thereafter, Surajbhan Chauhan filed a review request against the order, but Rouse Avenue Court also rejected the petition. The court said that the arguments filed by the complainant are not enough to perform the hearing and that no fault was found in the earlier decision. After this decision, Saurabh Bhardwaj got a great relief, while the legal battle of BJP leader Surajbhan Chauhan now ends. -Ians pkt/abm/ekd shares this story -tags
