The number of passengers who flew in domestic airlines this year was 5.751 crore, which is 9.87 percent more than 5.23 crore in the same period last year. During April, a major cause of flight disruption was bad weather. The interest in the total cancellation of last month was 38.8 percent. This had a direct influence on 20,840 passengers, which led to spending Rs 41.69 Lakh in the form of compensation and facilities for airlines, it rose monthly by 117 percent. Apart from cancellation, the delay also affected a large number of passengers, in April 96,350 people faced flight delays, which is an increase of 68 percent compared to March. In April, Indigo’s passenger market share rose from 64 percent to 64.1 percent in March. According to DGCA data, the airline also recorded an improvement in its passenger loading factor, rising from 84.6 percent to 86.9 percent. The market share of Air India Group also increased last month, rising from 26.7 percent to 27.2 percent during April. The airline’s passenger load increased from 80.6 percent to 83.3 percent. Akash Air’s market share remained at 5 percent. The market share of debt -ridden Spicejet dropped from 3.3 percent to 2.6 percent, but the airline’s burden of the airline increased from 84.8 percent to 86 percent. Akash Air recorded the most passenger loading factor, which increased from 92.5 percent in March to 93 percent during April.
