S-Cord holds a second meeting to strengthen Indias battle against smuggling

New -delhi [India]October 11 (ANI): The second meeting of the National Anti-Smuggling Coordination Center (S-Cord) was held on October 10, 2025 at the headquarters of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). The meeting brought together representatives of 21 key agencies across India. The Central Council of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on X said: “The second meeting of the National Anti-Smuggling Coordination Center (S-Cord) was held in the Dr-Headquarters on October 10, 2025.” Officials of large border protection forces such as Sashastra Seema Ball (SSB), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Border Safety Force (BSF), Assam Rifles (AR), the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Indian Coast Guard attended. Representatives of financial and intelligence agencies, including the Directorate Enforcement (ED), Central Economic Intelligence Bureau (CEIB), Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and the Cabinet Secretariat, also participated. The meeting further participates in several other important departments such as the Central Council of Direct Tax (CBDT), Department of Promotion of the Industrial and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), game crime Control Bureau (WCCB), Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), Indian Railway and the Dism) Safety Affairs (D & Isa) under the Ministry of External Divisions (MEA) under the Ministry of External Division (International Security Affairs) under the further meeting. The S-Cord platform, compiled under the Finance Minister, met for the first time in April 2019. The second S cord meeting is an ongoing effort by the government to promote collaboration between agencies and ensure that India’s counter-smuggling measures strongly and respond to emerging threats.
