Cricket Bat echoed in the streets of the town earlier, but Satyadev had something else in his eyes. For them, the playground was not of green grass, but a place where the wind direction, heart rate and hand stability determined whether they would overcome or not. In the early days he did not have a modern equipment or any high-Fi coaching. Just when a farmer irrigated his country, Satyadev also watered his art. In the early stages, he did not know how many challenges he faced. Resources were less, the encouragement of the people was also limited, but a fire was burning in them. This fire was to prove yourself, to give an identity to your dream. He started practicing with wooden arches and ordinary arrows. Each arrow that missed the target made them stronger. He not only learned to shoot arrows, but also learned his thoughts. Gradually, his hard work began to bring in color. His performance in local competitions has still improved. His infallibility and stability soon attracted the attention of coaches and selectors. He was called to the national level at the national level, where his talent got a right direction. After coming to the national camps, Satyadev started practicing for the first time according to international standards. He understood that only talent is not enough, he must improve with the right technique, spiritual strength and continuous exercise. He focused for hours, learned to control his breath and make each arrow a symbol of peace of his mind. His performance still improved and he soon became an important part of the national team. Prasad was the 11th of the Indian Men’s Archery team during the 2004 Olympics. He won a bronze medal at the Asian team championships held in Malaysia. He participated in the Rome World Championship 1999, Beijing World Championships 2001 and New York World Championship 2003. The biggest and decisive turn of Satyadev Prasad’s career was in the Athens Olympics in 2004. It was the platform where every player comes to realize the greatest dream of his life. It was an important moment in the history of Indian archery, because then India did not achieve special achievement in this game. In Athens, he demonstrated his incredible concentration. In the individual competition, he defeated one after the other several veterans. He shocked everyone by defeating experienced players like Nestlein of Norway and David Barns of Australia. He reached the last 16 players, which was a great achievement for Indian Archery at the time. His performance was more than defeat and victory. His career was at the top, but he was always connected to the ground. His contribution was not only limited to winning the medal, but he prepared a strong foundation by advising and inspiring the young players. He played the role of the Manager of the Indian team in the year 2017, 2018, 2019, 2024. He was also the coach of the team in the year 2022. -Is VKU/DSC
