The RBI categorizes banking holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act in three types: real -time gross settlement (RTGS) holidays and banks’ closure of accounts. The banking holiday is informed by the official channels of the RBI, which is the website and bank notices. Tomorrow, April 10, is a pre -scheduled holiday for all banks in India due to Mahavir Jayanti or Mahavir Janmakalyanak. Stock markets will also remain closed on Thursday. Bank holidays in April According to the official RBI website, the next designated banking holiday April 12 is the second Saturday of the month. Banks in India are closed every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Apart from Saturdays, April 14 is a nationwide banking holiday on the basis of BabaSaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, where all banks will remain in the private and public operations. There are 13 designated banking holidays in January, including the Saturday offs for the current month.
