On Tuesday night, a major accident was averted at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Barsot Village. 16 students from the school were suddenly hit by food poisoning, after which they were hurriedly admitted to Barhi Subdivision Hospital. During this, MLA representative Ramesh Thakur, Motilal Chaudhary, head of Barsot Panchayat and Malti Devi, chairman of the School Management Committee, were also with him. The SDO instructed the doctors for better treatment of the girl students. Dr Prakash Giani, medical deputy superintendent, said that all the affected girl area was immediately offered glucose to protect them from dehydration and get the necessary medicine. He said that all the students are now completely out of danger and that they are under strict supervision of doctors. Dr Giani hoped he would be discharged from the hospital within a day or two. SDO Johan Tudu, who is negligent, will be strictly acted on the incident and said the case is being investigated seriously. He said: “No mess with the health of children will not be tolerated. If any negligence is found in this incident, strict action will be done against the culprits.” He instructed the school management to be more vigilant about the health and food of the students.
