‘Sconitict shattered our lives’: Bengal teachers ruined after being performed in the recruitment case | Today news

A day after the Supreme Court canceled the appointments of 25,752 teachers and staff in the Government of Bengal, and helped schools on 2016 irregularities for recruitment, many of those affected opened on how the verdict increased their lives, and threw them in uncertainty and despair. While the sacked teachers are now left behind with stories of crushed dreams and financial unrest, the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) promised that it would soon initiate the process of fresh exams for all teaching and non -teaching candidates that were part of the 2016 recruitment drive. Amit Ranjan Bhuyan does not have a job in the aftermath of the Supreme Court order. He taught physical science to class 9 and 10 and after losing his job, Amit Ranjan blamed the Mamata Banerjee government. ‘We studied, crashed a competitive exam and found a job. Some people have used corruption. This would not have been possible without the support of the state government. But those who did not connect us expected us to continue in our work. This judgment has destroyed our lives. I have a nine -year -old daughter, my wife and my mother. Employees of the Western Bengal government schools respond after the Supreme Court confirmed the Calcutta High Court that many people emphasized that even those who cleared the exam and secured their positions on merit have now lost their jobs. Now they have all blamed the state government for the uncertainties they face. “Why so much corruption? The state government is responsible. But the Supreme Court must have given relief to those who were not involved in corruption. Why did I lose my job? ‘ He said, adding: “If I were 25-26, I would have cracked another exam. The levels of trust are then different. I’m 39 now, what work will I be eligible for?” Rajat Halder, another teacher who lost his job, said: ‘There is no allegation against us and the 19,000 candidates like me. But the Supreme Court declared our unqualified teachers. We are qualified teachers because the investigative agencies found no allegation against me. We are fully unknown teachers. The Supreme Court has done a serious injustice against an improper candidate. ‘ Who lost their job? With the top court scraping more than 25,000 posts in the recruitment case, approximately 12.905 teachers of class 9 and 10 in state schools have now lost their posts. The number of work relatives in classes 11 and 12 stood at 5,712. The rest of the nearly 26,000 dismissal employees are non-teaching staff belonging to Group C and D categories. What did WBSSC say? WBSSC chairman Siddhartha Majumdar said the commission, in light of the Supreme Court order, would ask for legal advice on the qualification of candidates who could take the new tests. “About 26 Lakh candidates applied for the exams in 2016 and about 22 lakh appeared for the tests. Of them, about 1.41 lakh candidates were aspirants for classes 9-10 and another candidates of about 1.5 lakh sat for recruiting teachers in classes 11-12.” “The rest were candidates for non-teaching posts. Although the Supreme Court has led us to begin the selection process to fill in the vacancies, we will need legal elucidation in whether new candidates can also participate in the new exams,” Majumdar said. However, the chairman confirmed that given the large number of candidates involved, the completion of the selection process was unlikely within three months. “There is no question of a three -month deadline in the court order. It is a long process and we are unlikely to complete it within three months,” Majumdar said. “We will begin the process of starting the new investigation of 22 Lakh candidates as soon as possible. We will also make our recommendations to the school education department, but at this stage cannot share further details,” he said. (With agency input)
