Agartala, April 12 (IANS). On Saturday afternoon in Kailashahar in the Unakoti district of Tripura, Tripura was taken out against the Waqf Amendment Act, but the rally suddenly became violent. At least seven policemen were injured in the incident, including an inspector. The rally was to start from Tilabazar to Kubjhar, led by ‘Kailashahar -Joint Action Committee’, but this rally was not allowed from the administration. The organizers decided to organize a rally outside the municipal area after not getting permission. Once the rally has reached Cubjhar, the shoe was allegedly thrown by an unknown person, causing resentment in the crowd and the protesters became uncontrollable. After this, the fierce crowds began to throw brick stones and glass bottles to the police. Several policemen, including Inspector Jatindra Das, were injured in this attack. The police had to be lightly uploaded to bring the situation under control. The protesters then fled from there. Shortly after the incident, the police force of Kailashahar and the Iranian police mate stations, Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and the central paramilitary forces were heavy. Senior officials such as OC Sukanta Sen Chaudhary, OC Arudaya Das and DSP Utendu Debnath were present on the spot. The injured were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital. After the incident, the Unakoti district superintendent of police Sudhambika R and Rati Ranjan Debnath, Dig of North Tripura Range, visited the place and tackled the situation. At present, security arrangements in Kailashahar have been tightened and the situation is being monitored. The investigation into the case was started by the administration and an attempt is made to identify the culprits.
