Semarang City Government wins National Archives Supervision Award

Jakarta – The Semarang City Government (Pemkot) has once again achieved brilliant achievements at the national level by winning the 2024 Archives Supervision Results Award for City/Regency Regional Governments, organized by the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI). This prestigious award was given to the Semarang City Government for achieving a score of 94.41 with the predicate “AA” VERY SATISFACTORY. This extraordinary achievement confirms the Semarang City Government’s commitment to realizing good archive management. The award ceremony was held on Monday (20/10) in Jakarta. Head of the Semarang City Archives and Library Service (Arpus), FX Bambang Suranggono, who was present representing the Mayor of Semarang, Agustina Wilung, received the award which was presented directly by Wiwi Dianasari, Deputy for Archives Systems and Information at ANRI. Scroll TO CONTINUE CONTENT In his speech, the Head of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI), Mego Pinandito emphasized the important role of archives in government and gave special appreciation to the winners of the highest predicate. “Congratulations to the City/Regency Regional Government for achieving the title ‘AA’. This shows a strong commitment to save the nation’s collective memory,” Mego said in his statement, Monday (20/10/2025). “We hope that this achievement will be an inspiration to other regions to improve the quality of archive management,” he continued. In line with this, the Minister of the Indonesian National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Rachmat Pambudy also highlighted archives as the foundation of government management. “Archives are the backbone of good governance. Without well-managed archives, it is impossible for us to develop sustainable development plans. We appreciate the performance of the regional government, which achieved the title of Very Satisfactory,” emphasizes Rachmat. On a separate occasion, Agustina expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the hard work from all levels that resulted in good results with proud achievements. “This is the fruit of the hard work and joint commitment of all ASN within the Semarang City Government to realize orderly archives. Archives are not just stacks of paper, but collective memory and evidence of our performance accountability to the community,” said Agustina. This achievement places Semarang City as one of the best regional governments in Indonesia in the aspect of archival supervision, which is an important indicator of bureaucratic reform and effective management. “I would like to thank the Arpus service and all OPDs involved. This achievement is a motivation to continue to improve the quality of excellent archive-based public services,” said Agustina. According to Agustina, good archive management is a form of implementing the strengthening of the electronic-based government system in order to create performance accountability and maintain collective memory towards digital government.
