Semarang City took first place at the GM-DTGI Award 2025 meeting
Jakarta -The Pemkot City Government (Semarang) won an award during the Gadjah Mada Digital Transformation Governance Index Award 2025 (GM -DTGI Award 2025) as the first best city government in the Regencies/Cities in Indonesia. The award was won because the Semarang city government was considered serious in the realization of digital transformation. This is the second time in a row after receiving the same award in 2024. The award was received by the head of the Semarang City Communication, Information and Statistics Office, KissArto, which represents the mayor of Semarang, Agustina Wilujeng. The award was submitted by the Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital (Komdigi) Nezar Patria on the sidelines of the GM-DTGI National Seminar in 2025 held in the Sukadji Ranuwihardjo Auditorium Feb Ugm, Yogyakarta, Thursday (18/9). He said with this achievement that the city of Semarang is expected to provide optimal digital services and strengthen digital ecosystems in Indonesia. For information, GM-DTGI is an index developed by the Information System Study Center (PKSI) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University to measure the readiness and implementation of digital transformation management in the district and city governments at national level. This year, the attack was carried out at 508 City Regency governments in Indonesia with an index referring to the seven main pillars based on best global practice. Meanwhile, GM-DTGI research chairman Professor Syaful Ali said the seven pillars contain 50 assessment indicators, including management and leadership, cyber security and privacy, the design of the user-centered platform, regulations and policies, reform of public administration and change management, data management and digital ecosystems. According to him, this award is in line with the vision of Indonesia digital 2045 and it is part of the central government’s efforts to encourage digital transformation at regional level. He hopes that GM-DTGI will be a credible and dynamic reference in dealing with digital developments that are so fast, and encourages the spirit of the region to continue to improve the management of digital transformation to realize better public services. Semarang City won the first position as the best city government in Indonesia, followed by Bandung in second place, Surabaya City in third place, the city of Yogyakarta in the sixth rank, ended Depok City in fifth place, the city in the tent.
