Remove Ads Read Only News The first flight was operated on 27 April 2017 between Shimla and Delhi. Under this scheme, 649 routes have been activated. More than 1.56 crore passengers were served by 3.23 lakh flights on these routes. The Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a release. Over Rs 4,300 crore distributed as viability gap funding to airlines. An investment of Rs 4,638 crore has been made for the development of airports under the Regional Air Connectivity Scheme. Civil Aviation Minister Sameer Kumar Sinha reiterated the ministry’s commitment that the scheme will continue even after April 2027.
