A 27-year-old Meghalaya air hostess recently faced two incidents of racial remarks in Delhi. The first incident occurred at Kamla Nagar Metro Station in North Delhi and the second in the Metro. The victim shared her experience on Instagram, saying that some people riding a scooter passed derogatory racial comment on her and made her pleasure. “In insult to her own country,” the victim said she went to eat in a Tibetan restaurant after the incident, but that he was mentally affected. “I couldn’t eat anything. My brain couldn’t understand what was going on, ‘she said in the video. Even in the subway, a man made racial remarks on her while other passengers laughed. The victim said she never felt like a guest while living abroad, but that she had to endure it all in her own country. She said, “My only fault is that I was born in India and looks like it.” The Minister of Union Kiren Rijiju gave advice. While sharing the video, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju condemned the incident and informed the woman that she was taking such an incident next time, take his photos and inform the North East Cell of Delhi police. Rijiju said the government has formed a special police unit to take action against any illegal acts or atrocities against the people of the North East.
