Shopkeepers from Sirsa’s trading tower market have accused the city council of failing to comply with the promises made during the inauguration of the market a decade ago. On Wednesday, a memorandum was submitted to Cabinet Minister Krishna Bedi by BJP district secretary Sheriff Josan in which he demanded justice and immediate action. Ramesh Kumar, Manish Kumar, Goldie Mehta, Rajkumar and other shopkeepers reported that in 2011-12 he showed an impressive map of a modern shopping complex. The design included basement parking, large showrooms on the first and second floor and the Municipal Corporation Office on the third floor. This encouraged many shop owners in the auction and took stores with a monthly rent of Rs 7,000 to Rs 15,000. However, he claimed that any promised facility, such as proper water supply, sewerage system or cleaning, was never provided. He said that despite regular rates, there was no significant construction or development work for years. The shop owner Ramesh Kumar said that, after waiting for six years, he stopped paying the rent and gave a written complaint to the city council and the district administration. He also said that the original market design was built by a professional at a cost of Rs 6-7 Lakh, but it was never implemented. Later, this issue was raised by CM Window and it was discussed with local leaders, including former Chairman of the Complaint Committee, Krishna Bedi. According to Kumar, Bedi accepted the disorder and also instructed officials to stop the rental of the rent until the CM flying group was completed. Share this story -tags
