Siddaramaiah government is left and Tughlaq's rule: Leader of opposition R. Ashoka

Hassan, October 20 (IANS). Opposition Leader R on Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah government. Ashok launched a strong attack on Monday. He strongly condemned the Congress government over the state-wide social, educational and economic census (caste enumeration), calling it a symbol of leftism and Tughlaqi rule and saying that the public strongly opposes it. Ashok said that this survey is politically motivated and is a conspiracy to create division in the society. He said, “Siddaramaiah government is a left-wing government, a Tughlaqi regime. The government has no right to conduct the survey, it is the prerogative of the central government. Dussehra has passed, festivals have come, but schools have not yet started. Even after three months, the survey has not been completed. Siddaramaiah is as stubborn as a child and says he will not complete it in 15 days, but he will not complete in 15 days. Tughlaqi Government.” He criticized the government and asked if the surveyors had received training? There are daily reports of surveyors being bitten by dogs, cases of suicide and accidents. Threats are made to cut the salary if the work is not completed on time. Isn’t that hooliganism? Giving his own example, R. Ashok said that he and his wife had given only limited information about name, religion and caste in the survey. If more information than this is asked, I will not sign. Slamming the Congress for threatening Sudha Murthy, he said, “Sudha Murthy is being threatened for not giving information. She is a religious woman who pays taxes worth lakhs. She has helped the flood victims.” Referring to the instructions of the Supreme Court, Ashok said despite the clear order of the court, the government has ignored it, which is an insult to the judiciary. He also expressed financial mismanagement and said, “First they canceled the survey results by spending Rs 165 crore. Now they are spending Rs 400 crore again. This is public money being wasted.” –IANS SCH/AS Share this story Tags
