Siti Fauziah asks MPR employees to stay away from corruption and gratification
Jakarta – Secretary General (Sekjen) of the MPR RI Siti Fauziah asked her staff to perform their duties well, honestly and not abuse their position. This is important so that not a single ASN within the MPR is summoned by the anti-corruption agency the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) because they are related to criminal acts of corruption. “Sometimes things that we consider normal appear to be included in the area of gratification corruption. For example, giving mementos to employees who get married. We can consider it as normal, but there are certain values that we must pay attention to, to what limit is the value. Then, whether giving mementos is a gratification or not,” said Siti Fauziah. This statement was made during a speech and the opening of a socialization on corruption prevention. The event took place on Tuesday (21/10) at Nusantara V Building, MPR DPR Complex. The theme discussed by Novel Baswedan as the sole resource person for the socialization of corruption prevention was ‘Integrity is not lip service, satisfaction is not tradition’. PAGE TO CONTINUE CONTENT According to him, caution by MPR employees is very necessary as in the performance of their daily duties, sometimes without realizing it, policies or actions taken coincide with criminal acts of corruption. Therefore, he considers this corruption prevention outreach activity to be very important. So that each individual within the MPR can deepen their knowledge about integrity and satisfaction so that they can avoid acts of corruption. “Prevention cannot rely only on institutions. My deputies and I, as well as the Bureau Chiefs and Division Chiefs, cannot trace the actions of officers within the Secretariat General of the MPR one by one. That is why awareness and knowledge from each one of us is needed. This is the importance of having this socialization,” he said. Furthermore, his party strongly warns against the honesty of all MPR employees. Moreover, when we regularly meet with the chairman of the MPR, Ahmad Muzani, he always reminds us not to make comments or carry out fictitious projects. “This is a burden in itself for me. I hope that all employees at the Secretariat General of the MPR will be more vigilant. I cannot say that we are all clean, but please improve it, and after today no one will play around with issues of corruption and gratification,” Mrs Titik said again. He hopes that the material presented by the resource person will not only be listened to, but understood and implemented in every activity, including in the daily lives of all employees. “Thank God, those who have done well from the beginning. But I really hope that we can all listen, follow, understand and implement the material that will be presented later,” he concluded. (acd/ega)
