Bogor – A five-year-old boy drowned in Cisadane River, South Bogor, Bogor City. The victim is believed to have fallen and been swept away by the current after slipping while playing with his friends. “Evacuation of victims carried away by the current of the Cisadane River, the victim died, a boy named Muhamad Dafa Alfarizi, five years old,” Head of Bogor City BPBD Dimas Tiko Prahadisasongko, Thursday (16/10/2025). Dimas said the incident took place when the victim was playing on the river bank with three of his friends around 11.45 WIB. It is believed that the victim slipped and fell and was carried away by the current of the Cisadane River. Scroll TO CONTINUE CONTENT “The victim was playing on the edge of the Cisadane River with three of his friends, suddenly the victim slipped and was swept away by the current. After that, three of the victim’s friends reported it to local residents and their parents,” said Dimas. At the time of the incident, a number of members of the Ciliwung-Cisadane task force patrolling the river tried to help. However, the victim was carried away by the current until residents were eventually found dead. “When the victim was carried away by the current, three members of the Ciliwung-Cisadane task force who were watching the river tried to help him. However, the strong river current made it difficult for the victim to be helped,” said Dimas. The victim was found 300 meters from the point where he fell. The victim was evacuated to a funeral home in South Bogor, Bogor City and buried in the public cemetery in Empang Village, Bogor City. (sol/idn)
