China calls 'Invidia' due to doubt about a 'safety vulnerability' in the H20 artificial intelligence discs
The Chinese authorities have summoned representatives of ‘Invidia’ to discuss allegations related to security risks associated with the H20 artificial intelligence discs. In a statement issued on Thursday, the electronic space administration said that these segments involved a dangerous safety vulnerability, and that officials demanded “invite” to clarify the risks and provide relevant documents. The statement indicated that the case was related to the capabilities to locate websites and disrupt the devices remotely. Invidia did not immediately comment on the subject outside the official working hours, nor did it publicly acknowledge that the H20 discs include such posts. This move was a sudden change in the tone to what seemed to the trade relations between the United States and China, as it comes a few days after a summit in Stockholm between trade officials in the two countries. In April, President Trump’s administration banned the sale of the H20 product to China before the US authorities recently allowed its return to the market. ‘Invanced Micro Devices’ this month announced the resumption of selling some slices of artificial intelligence in China after obtaining Washington’s assurance that they would agree to these consignments. But some US lawmakers have criticized the decision and warned that it could improve the military capabilities of Beijing and increase the ability to compete with the United States in the field of artificial intelligence. Washington officials replied that China originally had more advanced products than H20, provided by local companies such as “Huawei Technologies”. It should be noted that the least -advanced H20 chip is specially designed to comply with the previous US export restrictions imposed on China.
