Soil Health Card Scheme appears to be useful in the economic empowerment of Gujarat farmers
Gandhinagar, September 14 (IANS). The soil health card scheme run with the Mantra ‘Healthy Dhara, Khet Hara’ seems to be useful in the economic empowerment of Gujarat farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this scheme in Gujarat for the first time during his main ministry and then implemented it across the country after becoming prime minister. Under this scheme, soil health is tested and farmers are informed about the use of fertilizers and nutrients. This increased the yield and income of farmers. Amrit Bhai Patel, a farmer from the Jakhura village of Gandhinagar, said earlier used chemical fertilizers, causing problems. Now we have passed from chemical to organic farming. It has healed our soil health and carbon levels have also increased. The cost of farming has fallen and revenue has increased. Land expert Parul Parmar said that 20 government and 27 private soil test laboratories are installed in Gujarat, where 12 parameters such as pH, nitrogen and phosphorus are investigated in soil samples from across the state. After creating a soil health card, they give it to the farmers. Through this scheme, farmers can produce more returns at low cost. The Deputy Director of the Agriculture Division Nitin Shukla said that by adding fertilizer based on everything recommended on the soil health card, it increases the production capacity of the country and also protects the environment. Under the effective leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Gujarat government issued more than 2 crore 15 lakh soil health cards to the farmers. This scheme seems to be useful for farmers to know the quality of the land, increase productivity and adopt scientific farming. That is, soil health map has become a guarantee of higher yields and economic prosperity. -Ians Ash/As Share This Story Tags
