Soulful tribute to two heroes of martyr Asam rifles, manipur government has declared grants

Imphal, September 20 (IANS). Two brave soldiers from Assam Rifles were killed by unknown militants on Friday at Nambol Sabal Slaikei in the Bishnupur district Manipur. The tortured soldiers brought a sentimental tribute to the Impal Minister on Saturday. In this striking ceremony organized under the prominent headquarters inspector General Assam Rifles (South), a wreath was laid on the body of Naib Subedar (Late) Shyam Gurung (59) and Rifleman (late) Ranjit Singh Kashyap (36). About 150 soldiers, former servicemen and dignitaries participated. Both brave soldiers returned from flood aid operations in the Imhal Valley. On September 19 at about 5:50 pm, when the 33 Assam Rifles Convoy went through the NH-2 NH-2, the unknown militants began to shoot with an ambush. Despite being seriously injured, the martyrs had retaliation again, which showed an unlawful courage, but they were tortured in it. Five other soldiers were injured in the attack, which was included in the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) at Imhal. It is said that the condition of all the injured is stable. Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and GOC-in-C Lieutenant General Ram Chandra Tiwari of Eastern Command paid tribute as the main gas. The Assam Rifles -Directorate -General (Dgar), Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), the Border Safety Force (BSF) and senior officials of the Manipur police were also present. Assam Rifles DG Lieutenant -General Vikas Lakheda placed on X and said: “We salute our martyrs and express deeply compassionate with their families.” The Manipur government announced a grant of Rs 50 Lakh to the families of the martyrs and Rs 10 Lakh to the injured. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh strongly condemned the incident and instructed them to conduct a special campaign to catch the militants.
