Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLC Mohammad Shoaib claimed to have been “digitally” arrested by cyber criminals, who held him in his home in Patna on April 8. According to the fir submitted by the leader, the Scamsters took out personal and financial details by threatening legal consequences and even death. The MLC said in its complaint that he had received two telephone calls at about 10:30, claiming to be an officer of the Mumbai cybercrime unit. The callers accused him of joining the money laundering case, claiming that fraudulent crores of rupees were made by the Canara bank account associated with him in Mumbai. Shoaib said in his Spar: “He gives a false case number and a phone number in which my name is shown, so it looks really.” He further claimed that the fraudsters threatened to arrest him, and even if he tried to leave his home or notified someone. Cyber ​​criminals allegedly forced Shoaib to share sensitive information, including its Aadhaar number, bank account details, gold and cash, and even received his signatures on empty paper. Four people were arrested during the search at 12 places in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
