State Drug Corporation has prohibited the use of Safotaxim -injection, asked for stock after receiving complaints from patients

Chhattisgarh State Drug Corporation (CGMSC) immediately banned the use of Safotaxim injection. This step was taken when complaints of its adverse effects were received from patients. The Department of State Health has ordered the recommendation of this injection of all health centers and hospitals. Cefotaxim is a commonly used antibiotic injection used to treat different infections. But recently, complaints about its side effects have been reported by some patients, including allergies, high fever, breathing problems and other serious reactions. CGMSC -Statement CGMSC officials said this decision was made to give the safety of patients the best precedence. He said: “For the safety of patients, we immediately remembered the Safotaxim inventory of all the centers and completely prohibited its use. We investigate the matter seriously and the necessary steps will be taken.” The response from the Department of Health The Department of Health also ordered hospitals and health centers to immediately stop the use of Safotaxim injections and use other safe medicines available as an alternative. Advice for patients is calling on patients to contact the nearest hospital or doctor immediately if they have recently used Safotaxim injections and experience any unusual symptoms. Doctors were also requested to take precautions while monitoring injections and patients. Further action CGMSC and the Department of State Health are investigating the issue of finding out what causes adverse effects in Safotaxim injection.
