This fish is basically found in the rivers of South America. People buy it to collect in the aquarium and leave it a few times in the water resources as its size increases. The aquarium for this fish should be of large size as it can be up to 15 inches long as its size increases. It is believed that this fish can affect the ecosystem of Indian rivers and that it is harmful to some species of local water organisms.
