Displaced residents of the Isarda Dam project in the Tonkhan district Rajasthan performed a major protest march in Tonk on Wednesday. In this program organized in the constituency of former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, villagers demanded compensation under the new policy and revision of land allocation. After a meeting was held at Rui Tip Ground, the displaced residents marched to the collector’s office that increased slogans. Subsequently, a memorandum of 21-point claims addressed to the Chief Minister was presented to district collector Kalpana Aggarwal. Allegations of discrimination in compensation under ERCP The Isarda Dam is about to become a lifeline for six towns and 1,256 towns of Dausa and Sawai Madhopur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated this project. However, displaced residents claim that the government is implementing a new displacement policy for the Dungri Dam in Sawai Madhopur, with a remuneration of Rs 21 lakh per family. However, Isarda -Dam gets less compensation under the old policy. The residents call this discrimination discriminatory and demand the implementation of a new policy. After the demonstration and discussion with officials of the collector’s office, a group of displaced people met the collector Kalpana Aggarwal. The collector called the dam project, Adm rehabilitation and SDM Tonk and discussed their claims for an hour. The displaced people demanded that the people concerned of 39 towns of Tonkkuns and land in nearby villages should get the people of the Dungri Dam. Non-political movement: President of Tonk Panchayat Samiti Sarpanch Association and MLA representative Hansraj Fagna said the movement is completely non-politically. He said the former Mlas Ajit Singh Mehta and Sachin Pilot also wrote letters to the main minister in support of the claims. The collector gave the assurance to act on the claims within 45 days. Fagna warned that if the claims were not met, the displaced would start with the movement again. WARNING OF LAW: The displaced people have clearly said that if the government ignores their demands, they will start a violent excitement. Share this story -tags
