Canadian Dollar Stabiles before selling retail sales

The loonie trades almost unchanged at 1.3865 per US dollar, or 72.12 US cents, after trading between 1.3847 and 1.3889. Shaun Osborne and Eric Theoret, strategists at Scotiabank, said in a note: “Overall mood music on the CAD is becoming more bullish, and reflects the increasingly negative perspective that investors have on the USD prospects,” said Shaun Osborne and Eric Theoret, Strateays of Scotiabank. “Higher core inflation for April makes a rate of June very unlikely,” the streets added. Investors expect the Bank of Canada to leave its benchmark rate unchanged at 2.75% on a policy decision on June 4, rather than resuming a relief campaign, after the data showed on Tuesday that the underlying inflation was heated in April. The Canadian retail sales data for March is due on Friday, with economists predicting an increase of a month-to-month of 0.7%.
