Last updated: August 22, 2025, 18:33 IST Success Story: Millions of people want to start business and dream to earn crores, but dare not start with business. Today we are going to tell you the story of a person who worked as a Peon and then gradually made the pencil industry. Starting a business is not only money but also courageous. Today we will tell you the story of 2 such men (Rasikbhai Varveshia and Mansukhlal Rajani) who started working in the pencil factory in 1973 and started his city’s pencil workshop after 2 years. He worked in this factory for 30 years. With this he improved slowly and achieved the capacity. India’s stationery market has always been disorganized, but over the past decade a rural brand has all shocked. This company is DOMS, which initially made a pencil for other major stationery. Then in 2008, Rasikbhai’s son Santosh Raveshia introduced the Doms brand. Santosh’s father believed it was necessary to have his brand to keep the next generation in the business world. Doms started with only three products that include pencil, rubber and mlyper. Santosh accepted his father’s advice and began the most difficult market, Karnataka. His father said earlier that if you are successful in the difficult market, the rest will be easily successful. Doms passed in Karnataka and then spread to North and West Indies. Today, 35%of Northern India, 25%of the West, and 20-20%of South and East. More than 4,500 channel partners and 10,000 retail points have a strong hold in the market. Santosh managed the domes as a start, but paid the most attention to the quality of the product and the right price. Instead of spending more on marketing, he invested money to improve the product and research. In 2012, Domes worked with the Italian company Fila, which gave it information about global trends and helped improve the products. The special thing with Doms is that he makes his own products. Pencilwood, lead, paint, everything in the house is ready. It keeps the cost low and the quality stays. Doms designed products that keep children in mind, which was colorful and triangle design. In 2023, Domes aimed to bring about a turnover of Rs 1000 crore, which was much higher than his commissioners Hindustan Pencils and Camlin Kokuyo (about 500 crores). In the financial year 2022-23, the revenue of Domes was Rs 1,21,189,04 Lakhs, which is much higher than Rs 68,360,12 Lakh over the past financial year.
