A case of sabotage by anti -social elements has come to light in a public Durga temple in Sitapur of Varpur police station area of Supaul district. Last night, unknown people damaged the urn kept in the temple and threw the puja material around. As soon as the information of the incident was received, there was a huge outrage among the villagers and there was an uproar throughout the day.
After the incident, a large number of locals gathered in the temple and demanded the arrest of the culprits as soon as possible. On receiving the information, Virpur Police Station Raj Kishore Mandal, SDM Neeraj Kumar, SDPO Surendra Kumar and other officials reached the spot and assured the people of appropriate action.
Seeing the seriousness of the incident, the administration called the Dog Squad and Forensic Science Lab (FSL) team on the spot. The team conducted a thorough inspection of the temple premises and started investigating. The administration says that the culprits will be caught soon.
On receiving information about the incident, local MLA cum PHED Minister Neeraj Singh Bablu also reached the spot and demanded the administration to arrest the culprits as soon as possible. He said that such incidents are condemnable at religious places and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Anti-social elements also vandalized the sub-health center near the temple and threw the documents kept there. This incident has increased further anger among the local people. The villagers have demanded punishment for the culprits by completing the investigation as soon as possible.
Supaul SP Shaishav Yadav also visited the spot and inquired about the whole matter. He said that the police is investigating from every aspect and soon the accused involved in this incident will be arrested.
