The program was officially held at RW 05 Srengseng Sawah, South Jakarta in collaboration with the Sakura Garbage Bank, a community active in community -based waste management. ‘Kampung Merdeka Alfamidi’ educated residents about household waste management, ranging from waste, plastic and paper recycling, to cooking oil processing to environmentally friendly soap. The goal not only reduces waste, but also creates economic value that can strengthen the resilience of the family. Data on the National Waste Management Information System shows that about 60% of the waste in Indonesia comes from households, but only a small portion is successfully recycled. Through this program, Alfamidi and Sakura Waste Bank Waste Bank awareness and active participation of the community want to build up in a way and sustainable way.
