Supreme Court refused to intervene on Mazar and Cemetery's petition, the record correction proceedings disputed - the Supreme Court rejects the plea that disputed the correction of land record of Mazar and cemetery
Legal Correspondent, PrayAgraj. The Allahabad High Court rejected the petition submitted by Abdul Ghani Shah Sharif Mazar and Deoria cemetery. In the petition, the revenue record correction proceedings were disputed. This order was given by the single Bank of Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal. Abdul Ghani Shah Sharif Mazar and Graveyard are located on Gorakhpur Road in Deoria. The land was registered in 1993 by the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Council on the list of WAQF properties. In the case registered under the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006, on 1 September 2025 the additional district magistrate Deoria issued a notice for amendment in the income records regarding the grave and cemetery. A petition was filed against this notice in the Supreme Court on behalf of Abdul Ghani Shah Sharif Mazar and cemetery. It has also been said that officials should be prevented from destroying WAQF property illegally. The lawyer of the requester argued that the Income Code under the WACF Act would not apply in this case. Therefore, amendment action in the revenue records is not justified. However, the court refused to interfere and say that the requester has the option to address all these issues before the authority. The requester can reply at the notice.
