Suspicious truck ambushed in Tangerang, believed to be carrying illegal lobster seed
Tangerang – South Tangerang Police foiled the smuggling of 28,538 illegal bright lobster seeds (BBL). The case was revealed after the police found a suspicious truck on the edge of Jalan Pasir Randu, Cijengir, Kadu, Curug, Tangerang Regency. “I saw a truck parked on the side of the road loading goods. Next, I checked the truck driven by suspect J and found 4 boxes of goods wrapped in suspicious black plastic,” South Tangerang police chief AKBP Victor Inkiriwang told reporters on Thursday (16/10/2025). The case was revealed on Friday (19/9) at 02.30 WIB. The officers asked permission to send the suspicious goods, but the truck driver avoided it and it was discovered that the plastic contained illegal BBL. Scroll to continue content “The truck driver could not prove the travel documents and goods delivery documents clearly contained lobster seed (BBL),” he said. The police then carried out developments and succeeded in arresting another suspect with the initials AF. The police again arrested other suspects with the initials S, ES, and J along with other illegal BBL “They again arrested the suspect (ES) and the suspect (J) next to the Kadu Filling Station and in the vehicle they found 2 boxes of clear lobster seed (BBL) without any license documents,” he said. Police managed to obtain evidence of a total of 28,538 sand and pearl BBL species. The police are also still looking for three other suspects with the initials TS, C and I. The suspects were charged in terms of section 92 together with section 26 paragraph (1) of Act No. (1) of Republic of Indonesia Law No. 31 of 2004 regarding Fisheries with a maximum penalty of imprisonment of 8 years and a maximum fine of IDR 1,500,000,000.00.
