BJP has expanded the delay in DA payment to government officials, expanded from the Himachal meeting
BJP MLAs protested during the continued monsoon session of the meeting today about the delay in payment of 11 percent believers (DA) pending government employees. Onna Mla Satpal Singh Satti raised the issue during the question in the meeting. He said chief minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced in his budget speech that DA will be given to employees soon, but that it is still pending. Leader of the opposition Jai Ram Thakur and Jaswan Mla Bikram Singh accused the chief minister of deceiving the house and failing to fulfill their promises of the payment of the DA in the budget speech. Chairman Kuldeep Pathania tried to quiet the opposition, but the BJP MLAs started screaming slogans and later left the house in the midst of the riot. Thakur said that Congress came to power with the support of employees, so that the state government has to pay 11 percent DA pending employees. He further said: “Congress has described himself as the protector of the interests of the employees to come to power. Now it accuses our government, while Congress has been in power for more than two and a half years.” The chief minister said the state government has suffered a loss of Rs 4,800 crore from the central government over the past three years due to the implementation of the Old Pension Fund Fund (OPS) for employees. He claimed: “During my meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, I was told that if Himachal Pradesh selects a new pension scheme (NPS) or an Integrated Pension Fund (UPS), the state government can get this amount at a rate of Rs 1.600 crore per year.
