Dhoom of 'PM-Surya Ghar Yojana' in Varanasi, one Lakh registration
Varanasi, April 5 (IANS). Under Premier Narendra Modi’s ambitious “Surya Ghar Yojana”, one Lakh people registered in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. Under this scheme, the process of installing solar panels is rapidly increasing, thereby receiving the residents of the city relief in the electricity bill and also receives them subsidy from the government. Prime Minister Modi launched the scheme in 2024, and now the Varanasi administration is bringing it from house to house. Under the ‘PM-Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme’ in Varanasi, solar panels have been installed in about 12 thousand houses so far, and the process continues. Residents of Varanasi are very pleased with this scheme, because through the installation of solar panels, their electricity bill has come down significantly and the subsidy is also placed in their account within a week. The Upneda Seller Ajay Srivastava spoke to Ians that customers’ response is very good for this scheme in Varanasi. About 70 percent subsidy is given, which is a great relief for consumers. People are aware of this scheme through various government publicity programs and gain a great advantage of electricity savings by installing solar panels. Ajay Srivastava said that the registration process lasted about two hours, and that the work of the solar panel was completed within a week to ten days. Next, the beneficiary subsidy gets directly on their account. GK utilizes the scheme that Tiwari said that it has benefited greatly from this scheme. Earlier, their electricity bill came earlier four five thousand rupees, but now because of the solar panel, their account comes from 400 to 500 rupees. Another beneficiary Virendra Pratap Singh said he had installed solar panels four months ago and that 15 units of electricity were now being generated in his home. He explains that his solar panel system has so far generated 450 units of electricity, which provides relief from the problem of electricity bill.
