Hasan Nawaz steps in history books over ODI debut after Pakistan had a tight victory during Pak vs Wi Series Opener

Hasan Nawaz announced himself in style after the mid-order batter scored fifty on the ODI debut to send Pakistan to a five-wicket about West Indies on Saturday in the first match at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad. Hasan Nawaz, who batted on No.6 after the fall of Salman Agha, played an adult innings to see how Pakistan crossed the line with seven balls to save while chasing 281. In fact, it was Hasan’s 104 run with Hussain Talat (39 not out) for the unbroched sixth piket that the team saw home. Hasan did not stay 63 in the process. The men in Green did not have the best of the beginning with Saim Ayub who died cheaply. It was Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique, who forged 45 runs for the second wicket to revive the turn. However, after Shafique left, Babar was joined by Captain Mohammad Rizwan, while the duo set 55 runs before the former missed a well -deserved half -century half -century. With Rizwan also back home for 53, the onus was on Hasan and Talat. Nawaz struck for six on the second ball of 49th and blew the winning shot to the border of the final delivery by Joseph, which gave Pakistan victory. Nawaz’s 54 balls turned out of three sixes and five fours. Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, who was previously taken apart with Pakistan, won the throw and sent the hosts to bat first, a choice that paid fast dividends when Brandon King was taken for four on the fifth ball of the opening, bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi and captured by Bar Azam. Lewis went out at the last ball of 19th, bowled by Ayub and caught by Afridi. West -Indian Captain Shai Hope was bowled by Afridi and caught by Rizwan on the second ball of the 41st, leaving the hosts on 200/5. Romario Shepherd, was sent four at the last ball of the 43rd. Roston Chase made the third half century for the West Indies with a border, but went out on the next ball, caught by Azam and bowled through Naseem Shah, who also bowled out the Gudakesh Motie and Jediah blades on the last two deliveries in Pakistan.
